Preschool Curriculum and Information
3 years to 5 years
Our Preschool program is where a love for learning takes flight! At this stage, children transition from absorbing language to actively using it to solve puzzles, create art, and build friendships. Through our immersive Spanish language experience, we blend academic school readiness with structured, play-based learning. We don't just prepare your child for Kindergarten—we give them the confidence, critical thinking skills, and bilingual foundation for a lifetime of success.
Our Typical Daily Rhythm
Arrival Time, Breakfast, & Free Play
A Confident Start to the Day
We welcome your preschooler with warm, encouraging Spanish greetings (¡Buenos días! ¿Cómo estás hoy?). Children unpack their own bags to practice morning responsibility and sit together for a healthy breakfast brought from home. Afterward, they transition into child-led free play—choosing from building blocks, math manipulatives, or dramatic play centers where teachers expand their Spanish vocabulary through active conversation.
Gross Motor Time (Morning)
Active Energy & Coordination
Preschoolers have a natural need to move! We kick off our active day by heading outside to our playground or utilizing our indoor gross motor space. Through organized games, running, and climbing—all directed in active Spanish commands (¡Corran!, ¡Atrapen la pelota!)—children build strength, spatial awareness, and teamwork skills.
Circle Time
Community, Literacy, & Shared Ideas
This is the collaborative heart of our day. We gather on the rug to check the calendar, talk about the weather, and dive into Spanish literature, interactive poems, and music. Preschoolers practice expressive language, listening to peers, and answering open-ended questions, rapidly accelerating their Spanish fluency.
Activity Time & Fine Motor Skills
Pre-Academic & Creative Exploration
This focused block is dedicated to school readiness! Through hands-on learning, children work on early math concepts, writing readiness, sensory science experiments, and art. Whether practicing scissor skills, tracing letters, or sorting objects, teachers guide the lesson in Spanish, connecting academic concepts directly to tangible materials.
Gross Motor Time (Pre-Lunch)
A Quick Stretch & Sunshine
A second, brief gross motor period lets children shake out their wiggles right before lunch. This outdoor or active movement time helps them regulate their bodies, burn off extra energy, and prepares them to sit calmly and comfortably for their mid-day meal.
Lunch Time
Independence & Healthy Habits
Mid-day meals are treated as an enjoyable social routine. Preschoolers take pride in setting up their independent dining space and opening their lunchboxes. Teachers sit family-style with the children, modeling table manners and facilitating conversations about their food, colors, and textures entirely in Spanish.
Nap & Quiet Rest TIme
Recharging Growing Minds
After a busy, active morning of dual-language learning, the classroom transforms into a peaceful oasis with soft Spanish lullabies and dim lighting. Children rest comfortably on their dedicated nap spaces. For our older preschool students who may outgrow a nap, this serves as a crucial quiet rest and mindfulness period with books or soft puzzles to recharge their brains.
Snack Time
Afternoon Re-Fuel
After tidying up their rest areas, preschoolers enjoy a quick, healthy afternoon snack packed from home. Teachers use this time to encourage social chat, practice clean-up routines, and reinforce Spanish vocabulary related to eating and nutrition.
Free Play & Pick-Up Time
Reflection & Smooth Departures
As the afternoon winds down, children return to cooperative free play with classroom puzzles, cooperative games, and favorite learning toys. When you arrive, your child will grab their own backpack and take-home folder to show you their hard work, while teachers provide a warm wrap-up of their successful day.

The Little Pasitos Standard
🛡️
Designed with Love,
Built for Safety
Your child’s safety, health, and peace of mind are our absolute highest priorities. Every inch of our classrooms at Little Pasitos is intentionally designed to be a secure haven where your little one can explore, learn, and play without boundaries.
Here is how we protect and care for your child every single day:
✨ Indoor-Only Shoes
We maintain a strict indoor-only shoe policy in our classrooms. We ask that parents provide a clean, brand-new pair of easy to put on footwear (such as Crocs) to keep permanently at the center, replacing them as your little one grows.
Why we love this:
Think about what regular shoes walk through outside—dirt, bacteria, pavement chemicals, and rainwater. Because our infants and toddlers spend so much of their day playing, crawling, and sitting right on the floor, keeping outdoor shoes out means our floors remain a pristine, safe, and ultra-clean environment for your child’s hands, knees, and toys!
🌬️ Clean Air & Non-Toxic Materials
HEPA Air Filtration
Every classroom is equipped with a medical-grade HEPA air filter that continuously runs to significantly reduce airborne contaminants, allergens, and seasonal pathogens, keeping the air your child breathes crisp and healthy.
100% Safe & Non-Toxic
From our finger paints to our building blocks, every single toy, learning material, and building materials in our building is guaranteed safe, child-friendly, and non-toxic.
🏛️ Child-Proofed Architecture
Pinch-Free Doors
No trapped little fingers here! Our doors are equipped with specialized pinch-guards so curious hands stay completely safe.
Secured Spaces
All heavy furniture and shelving units are securely anchored to the walls, and every single electrical outlet is completely child-proofed.
🧩 Independence & Emotional Comfort
Reach-Friendly Storage
Low, open shelves give children independent access to their favorite learning materials, building confidence and choice during free play.
The Cozy-Calm Area
Nestled away from the high-energy play zones, our cozy-calm area features soft pillows and books. It is the perfect, peaceful space for a child to sit, reset, and regulate their emotions whenever they need a quiet moment.

Partnering on Potty Training
We know that potty training is a major milestone in a toddler's life! We don't rush or pressure our students; instead, we look for signs of readiness and partner closely with you.
When you feel your child is ready to start practicing at home, let us know! We will mirror your routine at school, using positive reinforcement and encouraging Spanish phrases (¡Olé!, ¡Muy bien!) to make the transition a proud and exciting experience.
📱
Stay Connected All Day Long
Like with our other programs, you'll stay connected to your preschooler through our mobile parent app where you will receive an update between 1-3PM. Together with the app and end-of-day update at pick up, you will receive updates on:
🥣 Exactly how much lunch and snack they ate
💤 Rest times (when they fell asleep and woke up)
🚽 Diaper changes or potty training successes
📸 Photos of their immersive Spanish activities, school readiness projects, and happy smiles!
