Toddler Curriculum and Information

1 year to 2 years

Toddlers are natural-born adventurers. At Little Pasitos, we channel their incredible curiosity and boundless energy into meaningful growth! In our vibrant toddler classroom, your little one will transition from their first words to confident bilingual expressions. Through a play-based, full Spanish immersion environment, we nurture early independence, gross motor skills, and social-emotional growth—all within a warm, loving space that feels just like home.

Our Typical Daily Rhythm

Arrival Time, Breakfast, & Free Play

A Cheerful Start to the Day

We welcome your toddler with enthusiastic Spanish greetings (¡Buenos días! ¿Cómo estás?). As they transition into the classroom, they sit together to enjoy a healthy breakfast brought from home. Afterward, they dive straight into child-led free play. Whether building with blocks or exploring, our teachers are right beside them, narrating their play in rich Spanish to expand their vocabulary.

Circle Time

Music, Movement, & Expression

This is where our Spanish immersion truly comes alive! We gather on the rug for interactive Spanish songs, puppet shows, fingerplays, and dynamic storytelling. Toddlers dance, clap, and mimic gestures, naturally absorbing the rhythm, sentence structures, and sounds of a second language.

Activity & Fine MOtor Time

Hands-On Discovery

Our toddlers participate daily in creative, sensory-rich activities tailored to their milestones. From finger painting and playing with safe playdough to sorting shapes and stacking cups, these activities build crucial brain connections and coordination. Teachers actively guide them, connecting Spanish words directly to the textures and shapes they are feeling.

Gross Motor Time & Outside Time

Active Energy & Coordination

Toddlers have boundless energy levels! We liberate some of this energy by headig outside to our playground or utilizing our indoor gross motor space. Through organized games, running, and climbing—all directed in active Spanish commands (¡Corran!, ¡Atrapen la pelota!)—children build strength, spatial awareness, and teamwork skills.

Lunch Time

Healthy Meals & Social Routines

Mid-day meals are a wonderful opportunity for socializing and developing independence. As toddlers feed themselves from their packed lunches, teachers sit with them to model table conversation, naming colors, shapes, and textures of their food in Spanish.

Nap Time

Recharging Their Batteries

After an active morning, our classroom shifts into a peaceful oasis. Soft Spanish lullabies play as teachers soothe and tuck toddlers into their dedicated nap spaces. A steady rest period ensures they wake up completely refreshed and ready for afternoon fun.

Snack Time

Afternoon Re-Fuel

After waking up from their nap, toddlers enjoy a quick, healthy afternoon snack packed from home. Teachers use this calm, small-group time to practice wiping hands and reinforcing words for eating and drinking.

Free Play & Pick-Up Time

An Easy Transition Home

As the day winds down, toddlers enjoy child-led exploration with their favorite classroom puzzles, books, and toys. When you arrive, we will help your toddler pack up their bag and give you a warm update on their day.

The Little Pasitos Standard

🛡️

Designed with Love,
Built for Safety

Your child’s safety, health, and peace of mind are our absolute highest priorities. Every inch of our classrooms at Little Pasitos is intentionally designed to be a secure haven where your little one can explore, learn, and play without boundaries.

Here is how we protect and care for your child every single day:

Indoor-Only Shoes

We maintain a strict indoor-only shoe policy in our classrooms. We ask that parents provide a clean, brand-new pair of easy to put on footwear (such as Crocs) to keep permanently at the center, replacing them as your little one grows.

Why we love this:

Think about what regular shoes walk through outside—dirt, bacteria, pavement chemicals, and rainwater. Because our infants and toddlers spend so much of their day playing, crawling, and sitting right on the floor, keeping outdoor shoes out means our floors remain a pristine, safe, and ultra-clean environment for your child’s hands, knees, and toys!

🌬️ Clean Air & Non-Toxic Materials

HEPA Air Filtration

Every classroom is equipped with a medical-grade HEPA air filter that continuously runs to significantly reduce airborne contaminants, allergens, and seasonal pathogens, keeping the air your child breathes crisp and healthy.

100% Safe & Non-Toxic

From our finger paints to our building blocks, every single toy, learning material, and building materials in our building is guaranteed safe, child-friendly, and non-toxic.

🏛️ Child-Proofed Architecture

Pinch-Free Doors

No trapped little fingers here! Our doors are equipped with specialized pinch-guards so curious hands stay completely safe.

Secured Spaces

All heavy furniture and shelving units are securely anchored to the walls, and every single electrical outlet is completely child-proofed.

🧩 Independence & Emotional Comfort

Reach-Friendly Storage

Low, open shelves give children independent access to their favorite learning materials, building confidence and choice during free play.

The Cozy-Calm Area

Nestled away from the high-energy play zones, our cozy-calm area features soft pillows and books. It is the perfect, peaceful space for a child to sit, reset, and regulate their emotions whenever they need a quiet moment.

Partnering on Potty Training

We know that potty training is a major milestone in a toddler's life! We don't rush or pressure our students; instead, we look for signs of readiness and partner closely with you.

When you feel your child is ready to start practicing at home, let us know! We will mirror your routine at school, using positive reinforcement and encouraging Spanish phrases (¡Olé!, ¡Muy bien!) to make the transition a proud and exciting experience.

📱

Stay Connected All Day Long

Like with our other programs, you'll stay connected to your toddler through our mobile parent app where you will receive an update between 1-3PM. Together with the app and end-of-day update at pick up, you will receive updates on:

🥣 Exactly how much lunch and snack they ate

💤 Nap times (when they fell asleep and woke up)

🚽 Diaper changes or potty training successes

📸 Photos of their language immersion activities, art projects, and playtime smiles!
